What is Glutathione?
The cell's main antioxidant. A tripeptide of glutamate, cysteine and glycine, present in every living cell.
Glutathione is not a designed research peptide at all: it is a tripeptide the body makes constantly, built from glutamate, cysteine and glycine, and held inside cells at millimolar concentrations. It was first described in 1888 and its structure worked out by Frederick Hopkins, which places it among the oldest molecules in this catalog by a wide margin.
Its chemistry rests on one cysteine thiol group. That -SH group is what neutralises reactive oxygen species, what glutathione peroxidase uses as a cofactor, and what glutathione-S-transferases attach to foreign compounds during phase II metabolism. The ratio between reduced glutathione and its oxidised dimer (GSH/GSSG) is a standard laboratory readout for oxidative stress. Because oral glutathione is largely broken down before absorption, research work uses vial formats instead.

What is Glutathione?
A tripeptide made of glutamate, cysteine and glycine that every living cell produces and uses as its principal antioxidant. This vial is a research-grade material, listed for laboratory work only, not for human use.
Why is glutathione supplied in a vial rather than as a capsule?
Oral glutathione is largely digested before it reaches circulation, so the intact tripeptide is hard to deliver that way. Laboratory work uses a reconstituted vial format for that reason. This is a note on why the format exists, not any guidance on use.
