What is PT-141?
Also called bremelanotide. A melanocortin receptor agonist that acts in the brain.
PT-141, or bremelanotide, is a cyclic seven-amino-acid peptide with an unusual history: it is a metabolite of Melanotan II. Researchers noticed that when Melanotan II broke down, one of its by-products acted on the nervous system rather than on pigment cells. That by-product was developed separately into PT-141.

What is PT-141?
A cyclic seven-amino-acid peptide, also known as bremelanotide, that acts on melanocortin receptors. Mainly MC4R, in the central nervous system. It is approved in the US under the name Vyleesi. Listed here as a non-clinical research material.
How is PT-141 related to Melanotan II?
PT-141 is a metabolite of Melanotan II. Researchers noticed the breakdown product acted on the nervous system rather than pigment cells, and developed it as a separate compound.
